The Pastimes are a five piece Classic Rock band with three sets of about a dozen selections each, and we'll throw in a few extra songs as the fun gets going. We play in the central PA area, and we are open to any establishments or private parties in the area.
We play established good old classic songs that everyone will recognize from oldies all the way back to the Beach Boys and the Righteous Brothers to Ozzie Osborn. We'd tell you more, but we want to be a local band with a song list that is a little different and will bring a smile somewhere in the crowd at every intro. Our selections stay as close as possible to the sound of the original covers.
Our lead player Jesse has a great rock lead sound with wonderful versatility, and a lot of soul coming from his Vox amp and effects. He can play anything from heavy crunching rock solos right down to country or jazz leads.
Our Singer Eric has an incredible talent for knowing practically any song you can think of, as well as adjusting his vocal style to match the original artists. He is a natural musician capable of hearing everything in the mix and often helps us get the songs tight and true.
Our Bass player Bob has worked with Eric for years, and like Eric, knows a ton of songs. Bob, Eric and Jesse have a great knack for vocal harmonies. Bob is a very solid musician and a popular member of the Pastimes from way back when. We enjoy his stories about playing around the area and all the things that have happened over the years. Bob is well connected as a musician in the central PA area.
Our drummer Billy has worked with Jesse for a long time, and the two of them are often off and running with a wink and a nod on something the rest of us are trying to catch up with. Billy is a solid talented drummer with great fills and keeps us in time including some demanding selections that would be a challenge for a lot of local talent.
Our rhythm player Craig likes to add a little drive to the rock selections without over shadowing the leads and vocals. He is an accomplished acoustic guitar player and we have a few selections where Craig will switch from electric to acoustic with good clear tones that provide a great counterpoint in some of the cover songs that feature acoustic guitar.
We can book easily on Saturday nights. Our fees are consistent with other good bands in the area, and we will book at a discount the first time out at a new establishment. If your place books for the door charge plus some change, let's talk about it, we like to get out and play, and we'll talk it over among the group and make a deal if we can.
We play annually at the Saxton Relay for Life and the Broad Top Carnival.
